Soli Deo Gloria

Dear brethren of SGBC:

As we approach the end of 2024, I wanted to share some items of praise and thanksgiving to our faithful Lord:

  • First, over the past few months I have been in dialogue with the Torrance Police Department about the possibility of serving as a chaplain in their midst. After several interviews and an extensive background check I was recently given notice that I have been accepted in this role. I count this to be a remarkable privilege and do believe that it will afford further opportunities to minister the truth and love of Christ to the officers and civilian personnel at Torrance PD. Please know that I have shared with them that my first responsibility is to serve my church and family, but will be glad to give them whatever time and service that can be given outside of these principal priorities. May God be glorified in this remarkable ministry opportunity!
  • Second, as of last Friday (12/13/24) our NC home was officially sold. Thank you for your faithful prayers in this! The resources that this has required (both in time and finances) has been rather something of a distraction for the past year and a half, but all that is behind us now. Glory to God for His good and timely provision in this!
  • Third, I am pleased to announce that SGBC will be hosting the General Assembly for the Confessional Baptist Association (CBA) next year (April 8-11th). Throughout my years in the ministry, I have been richly blessed by the bonds and relationships which exist within the CBA and count it a great honor to host this national assembly. This will afford our flock with several opportunities to serve the pastors and families who will be in attendance. Please be in prayer regarding this tremendous opportunity to serve others.

Finally, I thank our dear Lord for the tremendous privilege of serving as your pastor. The sweetness of our fellowship continues to grow as time proceeds, and I look forward to seeing how the Lord will continue to work in our midst. May all that we say and do result in the exaltation of only one person: The Lord Jesus Christ!

Warm greetings in Him
